/watch Claude watches any reel. Frame by frame.

What you get back

Every reel, taken apart

Claude downloads the video, finds every cut, transcribes the speech, reads the text on screen and names the background song. Then it opens every contact sheet and writes you a blueprint.

The hook

The first frame, the first words, the promise and the tension it opens in the first 3 seconds. Frame by frame, with timestamps.

Every cut

Each scene with its start, end and length, how often it cuts, where it speeds up and where it slows down.

The full transcript

Every line with its timing. whisper.cpp writes it on your Mac, in any language with the bigger model.

The text on screen

Titles, badges and subtitles, where they sit and how long they stay. Apple Vision reads them on your Mac.

The background song

Instagram often shows only “Original audio”. The skill pulls the song out from under the voice and asks Shazam what it is.

How to remake it

A blueprint: hook, structure, pacing, visuals, text, audio and close. Then how to apply it to your own content.

Find the pattern

Paste a dozen links at once

One reel can be luck. Send about twelve in one message: Claude watches each one and ends with a table that compares them on hook, cuts per second, subtitle cadence, length, close and song. What keeps coming back is the pattern.

Requirements and limits

A Mac

It's made for macOS with Homebrew. The on-screen text step uses Apple Vision, so it only runs on a Mac. On Linux or Windows the sampler skips that step and does the rest.

Claude Code on a paid plan

Skills run inside Claude Code, and Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan or API credits. Any recent version works.

The song lookup is unofficial

Songs are named through shazamio, an unofficial open source Shazam client. The skill names a song only when two different parts of the audio match it. One match is only a lead.

Some videos need a login

Some Instagram reels and TikToks only download when you're logged in. The sampler then retries with your Chrome cookies, and macOS may ask once for access to “Chrome Safe Storage”. Another browser? Add --cookies-from safari (or firefox, brave, edge).

The rest stays on your Mac

The download, the frames, the transcript and the text reading all run on your machine. Only the song lookup goes out: it sends short audio fingerprints to Shazam.

Study, then make your own

Use it to learn how videos are built. Don't re-upload other people's videos, and check the rights before you put a commercial song in yours. The platform's music library is the safe route.
